Gerald
Matthew Mandrell was born and raised in
Live Oak, FL to Mr. And Mrs. Mack S.
Mandrell. He is an honor graduate of
Suwannee High School. He completed his
BS Degree in Pharmacy at Florida A & M
University in Tallahassee, FL and has
practiced the profession of pharmacy
since February 1980. He committed his
life to Christ under the pastorate of
the late Bishop Elbert L. Sheppard of
Watson Temple Church of God In Christ on
February 3, 1978 during a Friday night
pastoral teaching. He was baptized with
the Holy Ghost on the following night
during a renewal service.
He served
in various capacities at Watson Temple.
He was the Assistant Superintendent of
the Sunday School Department, Chairman
of the Evangelism Department, Board of
Directors member of E.L. Sheppard
Television Ministries, Bible Band
Instructor, and he has
also chaired various other committees
and served in many other capacities.
Superintendent Mandrell is the honored
husband of Evangelist Judy Mandrell
since October 17, 1981. She works
diligently along side of him in the
ministry. (Their daughter, Brittany,
preceded them in death).He is a father
figure, brother, mentor, and friend of
many saints and ministers of the gospel.
Superintendent Mandrell responded to his
call to the ministry in November, 1984
and received his ministerial license in
December, 1984. He was subsequently
ordained as an Elder in the Church of
God in Christ by the late Bishop Melton
L. Sconiers in March, 1986 in Orlando,
Florida. He is the founder and Senior
Pastor of Life Changers Church of God In
Christ, Inc., Tallahassee, Fl. where he
is responsible for the spiritual growth
and development of this local assembly
at large. The church initially started
with a membership of twelve individuals
and has exponentially grown each year.
He also serves on the Executive
Committee of the General Council of
Pastors and Elders of the Church of God
In Christ, Northwest Florida
Jurisdiction of the Church of God In
Christ Administrative Board,
Superintendent of the Tallahassee
District of Northwest Florida
Jurisdiction, and Chairman of the
Northwest Florida Jurisdiction
A.I.M.(Auxillaries In Ministry)
Department where he organizes the summer
convention of the auxiliaries of the
churches within the jurisdiction, such
as Sunday School, Missions, Evangelism,
Youth, and Music Departments.
Pastor Mandrell is a gift to the Body of
Christ. He is an anointed teacher of
the Word of God. He and his insightful
and revelatory teaching are in great
demand of Pastors and students. To
know Pastor Mandrell is to fall more in
love with Jesus. |
